Craig Freeman Nominated for Honorary Life Membership – Water New Zealand
Filtec is proud to have had Craig Freeman nominated as an Honorary Life Member of Water New Zealand.
Craig received his nomination in recognition of his commitment to the water industry. Craig has been part of Filtec for many years, as one of our founding shareholders and Regional Manager for our Wellington office as well as Technical Director.
Craig is open, honest and committed to the people he works with – has had obvious benefits to the ongoing growth of Filtec. Filtec has continued to be a supporter of Water NZ and provides input into its technical work programme. However, Craig is recognised for being far more than a great representative for his company. He has committed to the activities of the small water systems group within Water NZ and has championed the advancement of the knowledge and capability of the operational sector.
He has given trusted advice to the Ministry of Health and to Taumata Arowai, being a member of the MoH NZDWS 2008 Expert Committee, and a member of the DWSNZ 2018 committee. He worked with Water NZ as a reviewer of its submission on the 2020/2021 Water Services Bill. His network across the industry allows him to openly share issues and connect people. He is trusted and respected, and his long and valuable contributions to the NZ Water industry was recognised by induction to the NZ Gold Shovel Chapter.
Craig is most proud of his association with chlorinating water, and while some smaller section of the community see it as undesirable, it has been described as a life safer for the world along with eliminating waterborne diseases like Typhoid.
